Hello,
I'm a well rounded industrial designer with close to 20 years of experience.  I think like an entrepreneur, because I've been one. I find ways to accomplish things that go beyond the norm, while keeping an eye on the budget and timelines. I'm constantly classified as "Perfectionist"; I don't think there is any other way.
Below is my story.

  • The Story

I started my own design firm back in Mexico City where we designed and manufactured POP displays and worked with several licensed trademarks (StarWars, Godzilla, WarnerBrothers Looney Tunes, etc) among other brands (Danone, Marlboro, Bacardi, etc)
I have experience in plastics and plastic molds; I designed a line of plastic containers and other home products back in 1998, year in which I spent a month in Marinha Grande in Portugal, a city dedicated to injection and blow molds for plastic and glass, finalizing the parts to be molded.  This project required research and focus groups with consumers to determine the final shape of the product line.
More recently I've designed plastic cases for a VoIP telephone system, a card reader, the case, stand and speakers for the Rhodes electric piano and several TV mount lines for the company I'm currently working for that does Mounts for Displays and Projectors.  This has required me to become part engineer, part designer to oversee the manufacturing of prototypes and products in several factories in China.
I've got some experience in the printing field as well.
As a manager, I try to automate and simplify all possible processes so the team can concentrate on it's core activities, reducing the time dedicated to operate and to solve issues, establishing a communication system that concentrates information of all projects.
